From Professor Cherish Keller
Now hiring for fall 2013
Student position: LL.M. language facilitator
The LL.M. language facilitator will have two main responsibilities. During the semester, the language facilitator will hold weekly 90-minute "conversation spots" during which he or she will talk with students in small groups about various topics, such as current events and local culture. During these sessions, students will be free to drop in to chat with the language facilitator, and the language facilitator will give immediate feedback to students by correcting their grammar and general use of language. In addition, the language facilitator will be available for 15- to 30-minute appointments with students each week, during which students can receive one-on-one help with language issues. The time commitment for these one-on-one appointments would be an average of one hour per week during the first four weeks of each semester, and an average of two hours per week for the remainder of the semester. (The maximum time for these appointments is 2 ½ hours per week.) Experience with individuals for whom English is a second language is strongly preferred. Pay is hourly.
