Currently hiring summer research assistants
The Center for Diabetes Research and Policy (CDRP) at Chicago-Kent College of Law is currently hiring research assistants to work during the summer of 2013. CDRP research assistants will work at the Institute for Science, Law and Technology and will work with faculty and students from the Health and Disability Law Clinic at the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent. Research assistants will be responsible for conducting research on a variety of topics, drafting memoranda, and contributing to grant projects.
Research assistants will support the legal and policy work of the CDRP. Research assistants will research and write memoranda on a number of legal topics and policy issues relating to diabetes, chronic health conditions, and health-related mobile applications, games and social networking sites. Research assistants may also examine the conflicts that arise among the competing interests of diabetes researchers, research institutions, patients, pharmaceutical companies, and the public health community.
Research assistants will work with attorneys from the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent who provide pro bono legal representation for individuals or groups of individuals who are denied access to medical treatment or insurance coverage for diabetes and diabetes-related illnesses or who face discrimination in a number of contexts, including school, daycare, employment and the criminal justice system.
Applicants will be accepted from multidisciplinary undergraduate backgrounds and must have strong writing and researching skills. Applicants must submit a cover letter, writing sample and résumé via email or regular mail to:
