Student assistants needed: Master of Public Administration Program
The Graduate Program in Public Administration is seeking one or more student assistants to work as program coordinators, starting mid to late May and working through the 2006-07 academic year. Duties include:
- Assist Directors and Assistant Director in day-to-day operation of the MPA program.
- Assist in development of various program development and marketing initiatives.
- Update/maintain all marketing materials; design and distribute Newsletter and various communications materials.
- Serve as administrative support for faculty members. Requires a wide variety of duties, (typing, photocopying, and filing), along with a range of other support functions such as preparing reimbursements, schedulimg travel plans, keeping class lists, preparing examinations, web page construction and maintenance, database management and a variety of other tasks.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of MS Access and Adobe Acrobat, familiarity with Dreamweaver aswell as basic HTML code and Adobe Photoshop is a plus. Comfort with finance, cross-cultural skills and overseas experience also a plus.
Requires intelligence, flexibility, initiative and a willingness to learn and deal with various "start-up" programs.
Minimum committment of 20 hours a week is desired.
