REPLACE THIS TEXT WITH YOUR FIRST HEADLINE
Replace the text in this area with your content.
INSTRUCTIONS:
To create your first Record page using this template --
1. Save this file (keep the name "recordtemplate.html")
onto your local, network or floppy drive. (You can use the "File:Save As..."
menu command when viewing this file in your Web browser. Next to the Save As Type, choose "Web Page, HTML Only" in order to preserve the file paths. If you choose "Web Page, Complete", your images and links will be broken.)
2. In your HTML editor, under the File menu, choose
"Open." Find the "recordtemplate.html"
file you just saved and open it.
3. Customizing the template:
A. Insert
your full organizational name. (Replace the red
text in the light blue box above.)
B. If you have an organization home page, there
is a place in the light blue box to insert a link
to it. If you do not have a home page for your organization,
simply delete the placeholder link.
C. Insert
the date (the Monday of the issue's week). (Replace
the yellow text "insert date here" that
appears in the darker blue box above.)
D. In
the body (white area), insert your headlines (heading
2, or H2, format) and underneath insert the text
of your announcements.
4. Choose "Save As" from the File menu
in your HTML editor, and name this new Record announcement
page as "record.html" -- YOU MUST
SPECIFY "record.html" -- USING ALL LOWERCASE LETTERS -- AS THE FILE NAME,
OR LINKS TO YOUR RECORD ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT WORK.
5. Upload your "record.html" page to your
organization's directory.
To modify an existing Record page --
To modify your "record.html" page after
uploading it to the server (for the next week's announcements,
for instance), simply save a copy of the current "record.html"
file from the Web (using the "File:Save As..."
menu command in your Web browser), open the "record.html"
copy in your HTML editor, make your changes, save
and upload again. (You don't need to start with this
template file again.)
