  The 1999 Julia Beveridge Awards

The Julia Beveridge Award is named for an extraordinary woman who served as the librarian of Armour Mission and, later, the first registrar of Armour Institute. Each year, as part of its celebration of Women's History Month, IIT recognizes outstanding faculty, staff, alumnae/i, trustees and overseers, who, by virtue of their dedication, energy and performance, emulate the characteristics of Julia Beveridge.

Nominations are now being accepted for those members of the IIT community who have:

  • Demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the university;
  • Made significant contributions to their profession;
  • Served as exceptional role models; and
  • Evidenced commitment to the advancement of women within the workplace or the community at large.
The nomination form is available at www.iit.edu/departments/99nom.html. Nominations are due by January 15 to Lynn Miller in the Stuart School.
