Volunteer student bailiffs needed for American Association of Justice Mock Trial Competition

The law firm of Romanucci & Blandin, along with American Association of Justice (AAJ), is holding their annual Mock Trial Competition on Friday, February 27; Saturday, February 28; and Sunday, March 1. The competition features many law schools from around the country, including Chicago-Kent, and is held at the Daley Center, 55 West Randolph Street in Chicago.

Romanucci & Blandin is looking for volunteers to serve as bailiffs on:

  • Friday, February 27, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 28, 9 a.m. to noon
  • Saturday, February 28, 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 1, 9 a.m. to noon
  • Sunday, March 1, 2 to 5 p.m.

Bailiffs' duties include keeping time of the mock trials, tabulating scores and certifying the results of the judges.

The Mock Trial Competition is a great opportunity to meet law students from across the country and watch them participate in the trial advocacy competition. The event is also a great opportunity for networking as the judges for the competition are all prominent Chicago-area attorneys. The mock trials are also overseen by actual judges from the Circuit Court of Cook County and other local entities.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Julie Donlon at (312) 253-8624 or jad@rblaw.net. She will then forward you the sign-up sheet as well as any other information that you request.
