AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL @ CHICAGO-KENT LEGAL SUPPORT NETWORK

Are you interested in Human Rights Issues?

Do you have an interest in Leadership experience?

Would you like to join a group that Actively promotes Human Rights and Justice?

Do you want to enhance your knowledge of Human Rights Law locally, nationally and internationally?

Last year Amnesty International at Chicago-Kent activities included:

  • Speaking Events: Co-hosted speakers on Women's Rights, Death Penalty, Gay/Lesbian Rights.
  • Videos: viewed AI videos on prevalent Human Rights violations in the US.
  • Committees: Members participated on a committee that successful lobbied the City Council of Chicago to support a resolution in favor of the UN Women's Convention.
  • Conferences: Co-sponsored and hosted the International Women's Conference in March 1999 and the AI National Lawyer's Meeting in November 1998 at Chicago-Kent; Attended the AI Regional Conference in Ohio, the AI National Conference in Minneapolis and the Death Penalty conference held at Northwestern Law School.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW SOCIETY

The Intellectual Property Law Society will be holding a pair of informational meetings next Wednesday, September 1. The first will be from 3:00-3:45 in room 370. The second meeting will be from 5:00-5:45 in room 370. We will be discussing our calendar for the current semester. New students and all interested persons are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided.


INTERNATIONAL LAW SOCIETY

Interested in international law? Come join us and see what we're all about! Our first general meetings of the semester are Tuesday, Aug. 31 at noon in room C35 and at 5:00 in room 520.

JUSTINIAN SOCIETY

The Chicago-Kent student chapter of the Justinian Society of Italian-American Lawyers will be holding a pair of informational meetings next Tuesday, August 31. The first will be from 12:00-12:45 in room C25. The second meeting will be from 5:00-5:45 in room 355. We will be discussing our calendar for the current semester, as well as important information concerning our parent organizations scholarship program. New students and all interested persons are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided.
