CRIMINAL JUSTICE SOCIETY

The first Criminal Justice Society meetings of the new year will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 3pm and 5pm (room TBA). We are looking for a secretary and treasurer as well as class reps. If interested in a position, please attend the meeting or e-mail SFAZAL or JMCGEE.

The Illinois House of Representatives will be holding hearings on a death penalty moratorium on Wednesday, September 15, and Thursday, September 16. If you are interested in attending and voicing your opinion for or against a death penalty moratorium in Illinois, please contact SFAZAL or JMCGEE.

Sister Helen Prejean will be in Chicago on Wednesday, September 15, at 5:30pm to honor Illinois death penalty abolitionist Sister Miriam Wilson and to speak at the Illinois Task Force Hearings on a moratorium. Admission is $25.

Folk singer Steve Earl will be holding a benefit concert on Thursday, September 16, at Metro in Lakeview. Tickets are available through Ticket Master.

HEALTH LAW SOCIETY

The Health Law Society will hold a general meeting on Tuesday, September 14, at 5:00pm (room TBA). Students interested in joining the society are encouraged to attend.


WOMEN IN LAW

Please note that the first Women in Law meetings, originally scheduled September 14, at 12pm and September 15 at 5pm HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED. The new dates are Tuesday, September 21, at 12pm and Wednesday, September 22, at 5pm. We encourage all students, especially ILs, to attend this very important first general meeting of the school year. We will discuss this year's events and activities and IL Representative elections.

Women in Law's first bake sale will take place on Wednesday, September 22, from 9am to 6pm.
