Black Law Students Association

Toiletry Drive for Deborah's Place
Help Homeless Women
Monday, September 20, to Friday, September 25

The toiletry drive aims to bring toiletries (i.e. deodorant, feminine products, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, etc…) to women connected to Deborah's Place, a safe haven for women that are, or have been, homeless.

Please bring toiletries items to the "Toiletry Drive" box located on the first floor.

Computer Law Association

Please join us Monday, September 20, 5:00 p.m. in room C50
If you were unable to attend our first meeting, there is another chance to learn about Chicago-Kent’s Computer Law Association and the opportunities available to you.

All members and anyone who is interested should attend this general meeting. We will introduce CLASS’s new officers, discuss our goals and student opportunities for this school year, and introduce everyone to our new interactive Web page. This will be a great chance for you to get involved in the cutting edge of the practice of law. We hope to see you there!

If you cannot attend but are still interested or have any questions, please e-mail Jeff Marks at jmarks@kentlaw.edu or Jay Carle at jcarle@kentlaw.edu

Women in Law

The deadline for dues, mentorship applications & 1L representative statements is Monday, September 20
After September 20 we will e-mail notices of events to members only, so join by Monday to stay informed! To join Women in Law, please return your $10 for membership dues to WIL's second-floor mailbox.

Feminist Reading Group, Tuesday, September 21, noon to 1:00 p.m. in room 355
Our first reading is selections from "Baghdad Burning, a blog by Riverbend." See our Web site for more details and copies of the readings. The group is very informal, has no set political agenda, and is fun! Bring your lunch and relax. If you don't get a chance to do the reading, come anyway and socialize with fellow Women in Law members.

Mentorship event, Monday, September 27, 5 to 7:00 p.m., in the 10th floor event room
Our first mentorship event will be a reception for mentors and mentees on Monday, September 27, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., in the 10th floor event room. If you would like to be matched up with a mentor, please print out the form on our Web site, and return it to WIL's second floor mailbox by September 20.
