Student Bar Association

The Student Bar Association presents Work-a-Day Event: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Saturday, October 1, 8:30 a.m.
Grant Park - Chicago, IL 

We will be walking the race as a school.  We will have a table outside the Spak for people to sign up to participate in Team for Kent.  Faculty and students are encouraged to attend. If you do not want to walk it, you still may sign up and receive a T-shirt.

Chicago-Kent Lambdas

First organizational meetings, September 13 (day) and September 19 (evening).

The Chicago-Kent Lambdas will be holding their first meeting for day students on Tuesday, September 13, at noon, in room 155. For evening students, the meeting will be Monday, September 19, at 5 p.m., in room 590. Food will be served.

The Commentator currently accepting articles for first issue.

The Commentator is currently accepting articles for the first issue. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 19. The first issue will be published during the first week of October. 

The Commentator accepts articles from all students, student groups and faculty. Although students are encouraged to submit articles and opinion pieces on any topic, some topic ideas relevant to the first issue might include: summer work experience, the Supreme Court vacancies, and personal stories regarding Hurricane Katrina. The Commentator is working hard to improve the paper and depends heavily on student writing and participation. If you are interested in writing, have an idea or have an article to submit, please contact Matthew Burns or Natalie Gottschalk, or send an e-mail to: comment@kentlaw.edu.

Intellectual Property Law Society

"Meet the Faculty" and welcome reception for the IP program.

Location: 10th floor event room.

 

Meet your future IP professors and discuss IP law, developments in the field, and potential careers.

 

IP Resume Workshop October 17-20.

 

The Student Resume Workshop provides Intellectual Property Law Society members with the opportunity to receive constructive criticism regarding their resumes from IP faculty and area IP practitioners, who discuss students’ resumes in individual sessions.

Labor and Employment Law Society

Labor and Employment Law Society holds first meeting on September 12.

The Labor and Employment Law Society will hold its first meeting on September 12. This is a mandatory meeting for all interested students. We will introduce the new board of LELS, provide a rough outline of the society's plans for the next academic year, and form committees for various projects. Pizza and soft drinks will be served.
