Environmental Law Moot Court Team
Invitation to join the Environmental Law Moot Court Team
Are you interested in environmental law? Do you want to participate in a challenging but rewarding experience that will offer you the opportunity to hone your legal writing and oral argument skills? If so, you are invited to apply for a position on Chicago-Kent’s 2009-10 Environmental Law Moot Court Team. The team will consist of three students who will represent Chicago-Kent at the premier environmental law moot court competition: Pace National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, which draws students from more than 70 schools from around the country. Chicago-Kent has participated in this event for more than 10 years, reaching the quarterfinals several times and winning the Best Oralist award in 2007. You can be a part of this tradition, but you have to get your application in by September 15, 2009.
The 2010 Pace Law School National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition will be held February 18-20, 2010, in White Plains, New York. (Travel expenses will be paid by Chicago-Kent.) The moot court problem will be available on or around October 2, the brief is due November 20, and oral argument practices begin after the holidays in January. During brief-writing and oral argument preparation periods, you should be prepared to spend approximately 6 to 10 hours per week on this project.
