A2J Author Student Editorial Board

Opportunities available with A2J Author Student Editorial Board

The board is in need of students to volunteer, earn work-study money, or obtain independent study credit for creating interviews used by pro se litigants nationwide to assemble court documents. The board is run by Chicago-Kent students who gain legal research and writing skills along with substantive knowledge and a completed work product during the interview-crafting process. Students can choose from a variety of incentives in addition to gaining practical experience while devoting at least eight hours per month to the board (that's 16 minutes per day).

Federalist Society

September 24: "The Rule of Law in Iraq"

The Federalist Society will host a panel discussion on Thursday, September 24, titled "The Rule of Law in Iraq." Three experts who are working to develop a fair legal system in Iraq, including Professor Hank Perritt, will talk about their personal experiences, what has changed since the war, and what else needs to be done. Most of their involvement has either been with the JAG Corps or NGOs working on projects to develop courts, prisons, and police, as well as a project to document and collect testimony from 50,000+ people who were tortured under the Baath regime.

The event will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in room C35. Middle Eastern food from El Souk will be served.
