October 20: "Remembering the Victims of Anti-LGBT Bullying"
In September, nine known victims and countless unknown victims of anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) bullying committed suicide. October 20 has been designated as the day to remember those victims by wearing purple. The Chicago-Kent Lambdas, Chicago-Kent's LGBT organization, will be setting up a display and handing out purple armbands to help raise awareness of anti-LGBT bullying. We encourage everyone to wear purple to show that bullying, including bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, is not acceptable. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions about the event.
