American Constitution Society

October 23: Supreme Court Review

The American Constitution Society is hosting a Supreme Court Review on Wednesday, October 23, at 3 p.m. in room C40. Professors Sheldon Nahmod, Carolyn Shapiro and Christopher Schmidt will discuss the upcoming Supreme Court Term. Food will be provided.

Chicago-Kent Lambdas 2nd annual Chili Cook-Off Benefit

Thursday, October 24, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the second-floor Spak

The Chicago-Kent Lambdas are proud to host our 2nd annual Chili Cook-Off Benefit. Please join us as we enjoy some hot chili and cold beer. With your donation, you'll be able to sample the variety of chili presented by the Chicago-Kent community. All proceeds will be donated to our choice nonprofit organization. Later that evening, each pot of chili will be judged by a panel of professors, alumni and a representative from our beneficiary nonprofit organization.

Child and Family Law Society

October 29: Child and Family Law Society presents Child Law Panel

The Child and Family Law Society will be hosting a law panel with some child law attorneys. The event will be on October 29 at noon in room 580. Feel free to come and hear about all the different careers you can have in the field of child law. This will also be a great networking event where you will be able to meet and speak with these attorneys after the panel. Food will be provided. Hope to see you all there!

 


Intellectual Property Law Society

October 21: "Fashion and Law"

IPLS will be hosting a discussion on "Fashion and Law," presented by Saper Law on Monday, October 21, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in room 270. Topics include Louboutin red soles, Burberry plaid, and lack of protection for the pattern of clothing, i.e., how H&M can produce knockoffs the next day.

 


Real Estate Law Society

October 23: Lunch talk with Frank Callero, commercial real estate attorney

The Real Estate Law Society will be hosting a lunch talk with Frank Callero, commercial real estate attorney, on Wednesday, October 23, at noon in room 305. Frank Callero is an associate with Ungaretti & Harris in the firm's Real Estate Group. His practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions and real estate finance. Topics include an overview of real estate law, the day-to-day work of a real estate attorney, and establishing a career in real estate law. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP if interested.

 


Women in Law

WIL Donation Drive for Deborah's Place runs through October 23

Women in Law will be holding a donation drive for Deborah's Place, a local homeless shelter for women, through Wednesday, October 23! The shelter asks for certain items as donations: body wash, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, face wash, cosmetics (ChapStick, scented spray, etc.), laundry detergent, dryer sheets, air fresheners, washcloths/towels, $5 CTA cards, gift cards to Walgreens/CVS/Jewel, or basically any practical day-to-day essentials. Members of Women in Law will then be spending an evening with the women, at which time donations will be presented. Please show your support and drop items in the donation box located in the first-floor lobby next to the security desk.
