The CBA has more than 30 committees that range from family law to corporate law and everything in between. The committee meetings are free to students and allow students to interact with Chicago attorneys in a different setting than a high-pressure networking event! If you have any questions about the CBA or their events, contact Amber Lukowicz at alukowic@kentlaw.iit.edu. Also, mark your calendar for these upcoming events:

September 24: All-Bar Welcome Reception

Join the CBA for a complimentary open house and welcome reception for CBA President Patricia Brown Holmes and Young Lawyers Section Chair Matthew A. Passen on Thursday, September 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the CBA Building. RSVP to Tamra Drees at (312) 554-2057.

September 25: Volunteer at Casino Legale

Casino Legale is a charity casino night, complete with a fun theme (this year it is a speakeasy), great food and drinks, and even a live band. It is a great time, and it presents fantastic opportunities for networking with a wide swath of the legal community all committed to raising money for a good cause. Volunteer needs mostly focus on finding dealers for the various table games offered, which include blackjack, roulette, craps, and a money wheel. They have a limited number of spots available to help with cashing in chips and registration. All volunteers will of course attend for free, and will have an opportunity to enjoy the food and drink. Dealers with some experience playing the game are preferable, although there will be a quick refresher training course for the dealers before the event. Please email Amber Lukowicz at alukowic@kentlaw.iit.edu if you are interested in volunteering at this amazing event.

Join the YLS for a fun social event on Thursday, October 1, from  6 to 8 p.m. at Henry’s, 18 W. Hubbard, Chicago, IL. Mingle with local legal professionals at this River North favorite while enjoying complimentary drinks and light appetizers.
