Chicago-Kent Law Review

October 17: The Supreme Court and American Politics Symposium

The Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States (ISCOTUS) and the Chicago-Kent Law Review invite you to attend the 2017 Chicago-Kent Live Symposium on "The Supreme Court and American Politics." In this symposium, Professors Carolyn Shapiro and Christopher W. Schmidt of the Chicago-Kent College of Law will host several constitutional law scholars from across the country to examine the intersection of the Supreme Court and presidential, congressional, and electoral politics.

This symposium is free to attend. Lunch is provided for attendees with advance registration. Recordings of the panels will also be hosted after the event for those unable to attend.

You'll hear from a panel of all-star immigration attorneys, including two Chicago-Kent alums specializing in employment- and family-based immigration and a zealous immigration attorney who advocates for victims of domestic violence at Chicago's largest legal aid organization.

October 18: Annual Wine Night

Come to KJF's annual Wine Night for one of Chicago-Kent's most fun and charitable events! KJF's Wine Night proceeds fund Chicago-Kent students in public interest summer positions. National Lawyers Guild

October 10: General body meeting

What's a guild? What does NLG do? How do I affect change while I'm busy in law school? Come to NLG's general body meeting to find out! We will provide lunch.

Participating in National Lawyers Guild (NLG) is the best way to get involved in public interest law and activism during your 1L year. NLG is the nation's largest progressive bar association and first racially-integrated bar association. We are a positive and hard-working group of students and lawyers who are working to create a more diverse, equitable and just legal system.

We will discuss: Chicago volunteer opportunities; upcoming trainings and events; and opportunities to connect with lawyers on the local and national levels who work in people's and movement lawyering.
