Kent Justice Foundation

KJF Spring Auction: Can you donate to support public interest internships?

Every year, the Kent Justice Foundation hosts a Spring Auction to help support students working at public interest organizations over the summer. Last year we were able to sponsor students working for Cabrini Green Legal Aid, the Public Defender’s Office, the Lawndale Christian Legal Center, the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, Chicago House, the City of Chicago, the Lawyers Committee For Better Housing, and more. We are only able to support so many important experiences because of donations from the Chicago-Kent community.

We're asking for donations of all sorts, including food, merchandise, gift certificates, and event tickets. In years past, people have have also given their time by donating a dinner or drinks with students. If there is anything you would like to donate, please email by March 8. We can either pick up a donation, or it can be mailed to:

Chicago-Kent College of Law
Attn: Kent Justice Foundation
565 West Adams St.
Chicago, IL 60661

All donations are tax-deductible and will receive credit in the auction program. Our tax-exempt letter is available online, but if you have any questions, please contact Chicago-Kent's director of alumni engagement, Joseph Volin, at, and he can provide additional information.

We would be extremely grateful for anything you can do! All of the money raised will be used towards KJF fellowships for students working at nonprofits or government offices. This year, the KJF Spring Auction will be held on Thursday, April 18, from 5:30 until 10:30 p.m. We hope you can make it!

Lambdas and Criminal Law Society

March 7: Diversity Week Panel: "Queer and Trans Criminal (In)justice: How Gender, Class, and Race Intersect In the Criminal Justice System"

For the Lambdas' Diversity Week event this year, we are discussing how the criminal justice system interacts with queer and trans people. For students interested in criminal work, this is particularly useful as they will be dealing with these issues directly. For others, their clients may have criminal records. For all future practicing attorneys, we think it's important that they have a general idea of the obstacles queer and trans (and especially POC) people face within the criminal justice system. Food will be provided! We hope to see you all there!

When: March 7
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Room 370
