Professor Neal Katyal of Georgetown University will
speak about the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld trial.
Katyal was the lead litigator for Hamdan, the alleged bodyguard and
personal driver of Osama bin Laden. Katyal won
in the District Court of D.C. in 2004, but was
overturned by the Court of Appeals in 2005. He
recently successfully argued the case in front of the Supreme
Court. Katyal formerly served as a national
security advisor for the Justice Department and is
well-known for his advocacy of pro bono legal work. He will discuss the
case and its constitutional concerns in detail.
