THIS THURSDAY, October 19, at 3:00pm
Location: Chicago-Kent Auditorium
Sponsored by the Institute for Law and Humanities, Co-Sponsored by Chicago-Kent's ACS Chapter

Professor Neal Katyal of Georgetown University will speak about the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld trial.  Katyal was the lead litigator for Hamdan, the alleged bodyguard and personal driver of Osama bin Laden.  Katyal won in the District Court of D.C. in 2004, but was overturned by the Court of Appeals in 2005.  He recently successfully argued the case in front of the Supreme Court.  Katyal formerly served as a national security advisor for the Justice Department and is well-known for his advocacy of pro bono legal work.  He will discuss the case and its constitutional concerns in detail.  This event is free and open to the public.
