Lunar New Year Luncehan and Chinese American Bar Assocition board of directors meeting, Friday, Feburary 14. The detailed tentative schedule is list here:

"The Chinese American Bar Association is holding a Lunar New Year Luncheon and Board of Director's Meeting on Friday, February 14th at the Chicago - Kent College of Law Campus, Special Events Room - 10th Floor beginning at 11:30 am through 1:30 pm. A Chinese buffet luncheon will be provided at no cover charge; however, donations and membership dues are always welcome. For Chicago-Kent College of Law guests and students, please RSVP to Ms. Nina Heard, Office of Assistant Dean L. Lazar ( nheard@kentlaw.edu or 312/906-5134)."


Our luncheon will be open to several groups of guests from the IIT Chicago -Kent College of Law, including Dean Harold Krent, Assistant Lydia Lazar, and other Chicago Kent College of Law faculty, plus the visiting Chinese law students from the People's Republic of China, Chicago-Kent AAPALSA members and officers, and the 2003 Chicago-Kent AALSA scholarship recipient and honorees.

The tentative agenda for the luncheon meeting will include:

1) Introduction of Chicago - Kent College of Law faculty and administration By Mr. Ernest Y. Ling, U.S. Department of Justice

2) Announcement of Chicago - Kent Asian American Law Student Scholarship Award - 2002/2003 Recipient and Honorees By Ms. Elaine Sit, Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumna (class of '96) Introduction of & Greetings from Scholarship Recipient (Ly Sou Chhay)

3) Proposed criteria for CABA recommendations of judicial candidates Discussion and comment leader: Mr. Ernest Y. Ling, President for the Chinese American Bar Association

4) 2003 Law Day Forum - Pui Tak Center/Chinatown Site - May, 2003 Briefing by Mr. Tony Shu, Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni

5) ISBA People's Law School Grant - Projected CABA Grant Assistance Request

6) New Business Matters - CABA Speaker Program: "U.S. Justice Department Criminal and Civil Prosecutions" By Mr. Ernest Ling/Edmond Chang, U.S. Department of Justice
