Sponsored by APALSA and SALSA
Apna Ghar is a domestic violence shelter serving primarily Asian women and children. Apna Ghar takes its name from a Hindi-Urdu phrase meaning "Our Home", and since January 1990 has served over 5,400 domestic violence clients. The shelter provides women and their children who are escaping abuse a safe place to stay, while also providing counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, conflict management and communication training, therapy, and cultural and recreational activities. As the winter season approaches, please support the women and child of Apna Ghar by donating lightly used sweaters, jackets/coats, boots, scarves, gloves, and any other warm clothing. There will be a drop-off box on the first floor by the elevators from Monday, November 3rd until Friday, November 14th. If you have any questions, please contact Judy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
