Brett Heinrich is the head pf MBT's Environmental Law and
Regulations Group. His national practice focuses on a variety of
environmental matters including enforcement litigation, compliance
counseling, remediation, Superfund, RCRA citizen suits, CleanAir Act,
Clean Water Act and environemtnal aspects of real estate transactions.
A graduate of DePal's law school, Mr. Heinricj began his career as a
prosecutor for the Illinois Attorney General's Office and later joined
Waste Management, Inc. as Environmental Counsel. While there, he became
a nationally recognized Superfund practitioner and environmental
litigator representing various subsidiaries at more than 50 federal and
state superfund sites.
This is a great opportunity to question a practicing environmental
attorney and learn more about Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick &
Pearson's environmental externship with Chicago-Kent!

Protecting the Great Lakes Symposium
On February 24, 2012
the Seventh Circuit Bar Association Foundation and the Field Museum of
Natural History will present a day-long symposium titled "Protecting
the Great Lakes." There will be several participation options:
attend in-person at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago;
view online via Live Webcast; or view online via Delayed Webcast (view
uninterrupted program or in segments). Detailed program

The five Great Lakes constitute the largest system of surface
freshwater on earth. They contain twenty percent of the world's
freshwater resource. About one tenth of the population of the United
States and one quarter of the population of Canada rely on the Great
Lakes for fresh water. They are also a natural resource of beauty
to its residents and visitors, as well as an instrument of commerce.
The fifteen faculty for this symposium are from the United States and
Canada, and they are experts in the threats to the Great Lakes from
diversion, pollution, climate change, catastrophes, and invasive
species, as well as the tangled web of treaties, provincial and state
laws, and municipal laws relating to these topics.
This is a very timely symposium for lawyers generally, environmental
lawyers, and interested citizens of the United States and Canada.
The symposium is supported financially by foundations, law firms and
others, and as a consequence it is priced to encourage
viewership. To further encourage viewership, the sponsors will
make arrangements for viewing without fee by law school audiences as
well as college and university audiences.
