Week of March 17, 2008

  • This is World Water Week. The Tap Project is a UNICEF campaign that celebrates the clean and accessible tap water available as an everyday privilege to millions, while helping provide safe drinking water to children around the world. The Tap Project is supported by the IIT-Stuart chapter of Net Impact and by ELS. Watch this informative 1-minute video. Then make a donation at the Spak (jar by the register) or at a participating restaurant. Try choosing tap water in lieu of bottled water and contributing the difference to the Tap Project. Tap water is better for the Earth and is freely available at the Spak.

  • "How to Start a Responsibile Business" lecture by Carol Moseley Braun. Ms. Braun is a former U.S. Senator for Illinois and has founded Ambassador Organics, a Chicago-based manufacturer of tea, coffee and spices. Learn from her on Wednesday, March 19, at 4 to 6 PM in the auditorium. Reception in Kent lobby before the lecture. View this flier by IIT Net Impact for information about how to RSVP. Cost is $5 for non-members of Net Impact, but free for members and membership is free. See the flier for membership info.
