General John Ashcroft is currently
touring the nation in support of the Patriot
Act. Around the country,
people from all quarters are questioning whether this
legislation strikes a proper balance between national
security and civil liberty. Patrick J.
Fitzgerald began serving as the United States Attorney for
the Northern District of Illinois on September 1, 2001 and
has an impressive record of prosecuting terrorism related
cases. Prof. Douglas Godfrey practices as a criminal
defense attorney, is a member of the National Association
of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is on the board of
directors for the Illinois Attorneys for Criminal
Justice.
