HLLSA’s Judges’ Night
Thursday, October 12th, at 6 p.m.
Mark your calendars! This will be a great opportunity to mingle with fellow students and alumni.
The guest of honor--who is chosen by the legal community based on his or her contributions to the Hispanic-Latino community--will be announced next week.
Monday, October 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In order to not conflict with APALSA’s fundraising event, we have moved our fundraiser to October 4.
What you can do to help:
1) We will need volunteers to cover the table in the Spak in half-hour or hour increments between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
2) We will need contributions to the goodies for sale. Foods with a Latino theme would be great, but generic baked goods are fine as well. (Keep in mind there are no points given for home-baked goodies, feel free to bring store-bought items.) Please let us know what you can do to help. Send an e-mail to Rachel Medina at email@example.com.
Proceeds will help to fund HLLSA events throughout the year.
Friday, September 29, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Don’t wait until the end of the semester to get help with improving your note-taking skills and outlining techniques. Join a few 2Ls on Friday, September 29 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the HLLSA office (C72) for some tips on how to make the most of your first year.
The Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI) provides a wonderful mentoring opportunity for law students. Sign-up ASAP if you would like to get involved!
Christina Lopez, the contact person for this program, will pair you with an attorney who would be appropriate for your career goals and interests. You may e-mail her with your name, address, phone, e-mail address and area of law you are interested in, at the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
