The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

Organized by the International Law Student Association, this competition attracts teams from law schools around the globe.  Competitors will argue a hypothetical case before the International Court of Justice.  The competition has prominently featured issues related to international border disputes, war crimes, genocide, the rights of indigenous peoples, diplomatic relations, investment and trade, and the jurisdiction of international courts.  Students who are selected to participate on the Chicago-Kent Jessup Team draft two memorials (briefs) in the fall and over winter break and then argue early in the spring semester at the regional rounds at a Midwestern law school, with the possibility to advance to the international rounds held in Washington D.C.
