The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vienna)

This competition centers on a commercial dispute between two private parties in different countries, both of which are signatory countries to the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods (basically the international equivalent to Article 2 of the UCC).  Teams compete against roughly 200 other law school teams and argue their case in front of an arbitral panel in a style and format that is typical in private international commercial arbitration.  During the fall semester, students write two memoranda, which are due in December and January.  Teams then argue in Vienna, Austria, during the first week of April.
