 Welcome

Thank you for joining us for the 17th Annual KJF Spring Auction!

The Kent Justice Foundation is a vibrant, student-run organization at Chicago-Kent.  Each year, we raise thousands of dollars to fund fellowships for idealistic and talented students who dedicate their summer to unpaid public interest law positions.

Last summer, among many other activities, KJF Fellows put their legal training to use by:

  • Providing justice to victims of violent crime;
  • Developing education plans for children living with disabilities;
  • Creating national policies for rebuilding New Orleans; and
  • Advocating for strict enforcement of anti-pollution laws.

The organizations where these students worked simply cannot afford to pay them.  Our small fellowships helped the students pay their rent while they took on these challenging and worthwhile roles.

We need your help to keep sustain and grow this grass-roots effort.  The auction is our largest fundraiser of the year.  Hundreds of students, alumni, faculty, and friends attend and participate in the live and silent auctions.  Last year we raised over $28,000.  With your help, we hope to have another record setting year.

So tonight, we encourage you to “be a hero” by buying a handful of KJF Raffle tickets, scribbling your name on the Silent Auction bid sheets, and raising your card to outbid your classmates and friends during the outrageous Live Auction.  We are so grateful to the professors, staff, and local businesses who have donated these wonderful auction packages and prizes.  And we are equally grateful to you for spending some cash to win these raffles and auctions.

We also encourage to you to have a great time!  The Spring Auction is one of the largest Chicago-Kent events of the year, and is a celebration of our law school’s spirit of generosity and camaraderie.  So have fun, eat plenty, enjoy a drink or two, and be a part of this great Chicago-Kent tradition.

Thanks again,
