Volunteer Opportunities

KJF sponsors various volunteer opportunities for Chicago-Kent students.  Past events have included charity walks and runs, food and clothing drives, donate-a-phone project, and fundraising and volunteer work with various non-profit organizations throughout Chicago.  Even if your future plans do not include public service, KJF will allow you to volunteer and make a difference.

KJF Volunteer Events

In Fall 2004, KJF teamed up with the Center for Access to Justice & Technology (CAJT) to help staff the Self Help Web Desk at the Daley Center. The Self Help Web Desk staff help pro se litigants access legal information in easy-to-understand language through CAJT's Illinois Legal Aid Online website.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Self Help Web Desk, please contact KJF Volunteer Coordinators Ted Koshiol(tkoshiol@kentlaw.edu) and Katie Lustig (klustig@kentlaw.edu).

If you have and ideas for KJF- sponsored volunteer events, please contact the KJF Volunteer Coordinators Ted Koshiol (tkoshiol@kentlaw.edu) and Katie Lustig (klustig@kentlaw.edu).

Volunteer Opportunities Outside of KJF

There are many organizations who need volunteers year round.  These opportunities vary greatly in their cause, time commitment, and locations.  There are many resources to aid you in finding the volunteer opportunity that best fits your needs.

GET IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT BY DOING SOME GIFT WRAPPING!!

Tap into the magic of the holiday season by wrapping gifts on behalf of the Fairygodmother Foundation! Volunteer to staff gift wrapping tables at Borders and Barnes and Nobles throughout the city. Shifts are 2-4 hours long and we will need at least 2 volunteers present at each site. Sign up will just be first  come first serve, so if you and another volunteer want to work together, please email me both of your names at the same time. This is a perfect opportunity to spread a little holiday cheer, have tons of fun, and gain some volunteer credit hours, all while raising funds and awareness for Fairygodmother Foundation. By granting wishes to adults faced with terminal illness, Fairygodmother Foundation helps make dreams a reality for the individuals and their families who need magic the most. Since 1998, the Foundation has given them a chance for peace, closure and joy in their hour of greatest need. Sign up below for a chance to help. No gift wrapping skills required - all you have to do is  have fun.
