Opportunities in Public Interest Law Speaker Panel

 

KJF and the Career Services will be sponsoring an Opportunities in Public Interest Law speaker panel on Wednesday, October 15th at 3:00pm in Room C40. Come learn about opportunities in public interest law and the resources available in finding public interest fellowships, internships, and employment. Also, hear from Chicago-Kent students who have or are currently working in public interest jobs. Learn about their experiences including how they found their job and funding. Refreshments will be provided!

Spooky Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Our Spooky Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser will be held on Thursday, October 30th in the 2nd Floor Spak. For a small ticket price, all students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to have all you can eat spaghetti, salad, and desserts/candy, as well as all you can drink wine and soda!

All proceeds of the fundraiser helps fund KJF Summer Fellowships. Tickets will be going on sale soon, so be on the look out! Please contact Jessica Webb (jwebb@kentlaw.edu) for more information.

Meet the Public Service Employers Reception On Wednesday, October 8th between 4:30 and 6:30, the Chicago Area Law School Consortium will be hosting a "Meet the Public Service Employers Reception" at Loyola University Chicago, 25 East Pearson, 15th Floor, Kasbeer Hall in which students can learn about non-profit and government agency job opportunities. Just to let you know, KJF will likely organize a group of people to go over to Loyola that day. If you are interested in attending with a KJF group, please contact Aaron Garland (agarland@kentlaw.edu).

Equal Justice Works Public Interest Conference & Career Fair The Equal Justice Works Public Interest Conference & Career Fair is scheduled to occur on Thursday October 23 - Friday October 24th in D.C. Students can obtain the list of participating employers and register by going to www.equaljusticeworks.org. Chicago-Kent's Equal Justice Works Membership covers the registration fee of the fair for up to five students. Melanie Kushnir (mkushnir@kentlaw.edu), in the career services office, should be contacted if you would like to attend or if you have any questions.

Public Interest Lawyers Panel On Tuesday, November 11th at Noon, KJF and the Career Services Office will be hosting a panel of public interest lawyers. These lawyers will share their experiences as a public interest lawyer and answer student questions. The panel will be held in Room 580, and there will be free pizza. Public Interest Law Journal

 

Are you interested in writing about today's laws and how they effect the underrepresented? Do you want to participate in the creation of a Journal that brings together the political, economic and social realities of today?  If yes, this is the place to be.  Whether you want to write or edit, join us on this new venture.
