Next Semester Events
Public Interest Lawyers Panel
semester KJF and the Career Services Office will be hosting a panel of public
interest lawyers. These lawyers
will share their experiences as a public interest lawyer and answer
student questions. There will be
more information early in the semester about this event.
13th Annual KJF
The 13th Annual KJF Spring Auction is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 14th. The Spring Auction is KJF’s
largest fundraiser and one of the largest events at Chicago-Kent. For a small ticket price, attendees
are treated to free food and drink and the opportunity to bid on numerous
auction packages. In previous
years, auction packages have included spa treatments, hotel stays,
theatre and dinner packages, tickets to concert and sporting events, and
more. Professors also donate
packages such as dinner at their homes or a fine Chicago restaurant, tickets
to sporting events, or a movie night for them and a group of
students. In recent years, the
Spring Auction has raised between $15,000-$20,000, all going towards KJF

KJF and the Public Interest Resource Center (PIRC) in the fight against
you have cell phones that you no longer use that you want to get rid
of? As part of the Donate-a-Phone
program, KJF and PIRC are collecting used cell phones. The Donate-a-Phone campaign is an
extension of the Wireless Foundation’s CALL
to PROTECT program. This program takes used cell phones
and rehabs them and programs them with emergency number in order to
provide wireless phones and airtime to victims of domestic violence. These
phones help provide a lifeline by providing instant access to help in an
emergency. So, by donating your used cell phone, you are hot only
helping the environment by keeping these cell phones out of landfills,
you are also helping victims of domestic violence.
