13th Annual KJF Spring Auction!!!

The 13th Annual KJF Spring Auction is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14th.  The Spring Auction is KJF’s largest fundraiser and one of the largest events at Chicago-Kent.  For a small ticket price, attendees are treated to free food and drink and the opportunity to bid on numerous auction packages.  In previous years, auction packages have included spa treatments, hotel stays, theatre and dinner packages, tickets to concert and sporting events, and more.  Professors also donate packages such as dinner at their homes or a fine Chicago restaurant, tickets to sporting events, or a movie night for them and a group of students.  In recent years, the Spring Auction has raised between $15,000-$20,000, all going towards KJF Summer Fellowships.

Planning for the 13th Annual KJF Spring Auction is beginning.  More information will be coming.  If you would like to help with the planning of the auction or have any questions please feel free to email the KJF Auction Co-Chairs, Kevin Raica (kraica@kentlaw.edu) and Erin Shanahan (eshanahan@kentlaw.edu).

Donate-a-Phone

Join KJF and the Public Interest Resource Center (PIRC) in the fight against Domestic Violence!

Do you have cell phones that you no longer use that you want to get rid of?  As part of the Donate-a-Phone program, KJF and PIRC are collecting used cell phones.  The Donate-a-Phone campaign is an extension of the Wireless Foundation’s CALL to PROTECT program.  This program takes used cell phones and rehabs them and programs them with emergency number in order to provide wireless phones and airtime to victims of domestic violence.  These phones help provide a lifeline by providing instant access to help in an emergency.  So, by donating your used cell phone, you are hot only helping the environment by keeping these cell phones out of landfills, you are also helping victims of domestic violence.

All used cell phones, except car installed “bag phones” are accepted.  Cell phones that are broken are also accepted.  If possible please include charger and other accessories that came with the phone.  If you have questions or would like to donate your used cell phone, please drop the phone by room 654, or email Aaron Garland (agarland@kentlaw.edu) to make other arrangements.
