New & improved KJF Website!

We have made several updates to our website! We have included new resources to help you get involved in Public Interest intiatives here at Kent and in the greater Chicago area. Click here to check it out!

"Knit One, Save One" Event!!

Please join us for our first annual "Knit-In" and make baby caps to benefit Save the Children. Click here for more details!

What: Get your knit (or crochet) on!!

When: Sunday, November 23rd from 3 - 6 p.m.

Where: Room 165

Why: Because four million newborns die each year within the first month of life, and one of the easiest ways to cut down on infant mortality is to keep babies warm and dry.

Knitting Newbies: We will have several instructors on hand to teach you everything you need to know!! Your donation of $15 will cover the 3 hour lesson, needles or a crochet hook (which are yours to keep!) and other supplies.

Knitting Veterans: If you already know how to knit/crochet and will not require needles/a hook, the donation is only $5. All proceeds go to Save the Children.

All members of the C-K Community are invited. Refreshments will be served.

**Please RSVP to Judy at jchan@kentlaw.edu no later than Wednesday, November 12th if you plan to attend. Indicate whether you will be knitting or crocheting and your skill level. If you are unable to attend but would like to make a cap on your own, contact Judy for accepted patterns and other information.

Volunteer at Vision House

On Saturday, November 15th from 9 - 11:35 a.m., KJF volunteers will be helping Vision House clean & organize their facilities at 514 East 50th Place in Chicago. Vision House provides permanent housing for low income and homeless HIV/AIDS affected individuals and their families. If you would like to participate in this event, please RSVP to Judy at jchan@kentlaw.edu by this afternoon, Monday, November 10th. Attention 1L's & 2L's: Preparing your

2009 PILI Application

The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) offers $5,000 internships for students who spend their summer at one of their designated Chicago-area legal aid organizations. Hear from an employer who reviews PILI applications and several students who were successful at obtaining a PILI internship. Pizza & refreshments will be served!
