TAP Training Weds., Feb. 10, at noon

Ladder Up's Tax Assistance Program (TAP) helps thousands of low-income Chicago families each year receive their maximum federal and state tax refund.† Volunteers learn how to use TAP's tax preparation software and guide clients through the process, learning some marketable skills and making a huge difference in people's lives along the way.† You will also get to chat and work with practicing Chicago attorneys doing pro bono work with TAP - a great networking opportunity!

Get certified in tax preparation by TAP staff next Wednesday, February 10th at noon in room 545.† The training lasts about an hour, after which you will be asked to take a short online test.† Then you will be ready to volunteer with TAP any time throughout the tax season!† Additionally, at least two Kent group volunteer sessions will be planned by KJF throughout the next couple of months.

Please RSVP to Jessica at, and feel free to e-mail questions.

Hope to see you there!

Volunteer with (G)love Saturday, Feb. 13

(G)love is an annual event dedicated to helping homeless Chicagoans survive this awful weather.† A group of us go to a local community and hand out CarePacks full of gloves and other warming goodies to individuals in need.† Not only do you genuinely improve the lives of your neighbors, but you get the chance to talk to people who you may not talk to or even notice most of the time, and get some insight into what life is like for them.†Check out the website:

†This year Kent will join in the efforts Saturday, February 13th from 9 to noon.† Itís a little commitment with a big reward.

This opportunity is limited to only 8 students, so email to sign up. First come, first served!
