9th Annual 7th Circuit NELA Conference

NELA (the National Employment Lawyers Association) is a group of several thousand lawyers who usually represent employees in employment law-related matters.  NELA/Illinois's Seventh Circuit Conference, particularly the substantive sessions on developments during the last year and on discovery, are always fascinating for anyone interested in employment law.  Chicago-Kent faculty and students may attend free of charge, but NELA/Illinois needs advance registration so that they know how many handouts, etc. to make.

Registering for the conference does not obligate you to stay for the entire day.  Students, remember this is also a useful networking opportunity if you are interested in employee-side work.

LELS Federal Sector Career Panel

The Labor and Employment Law Society is sponsoring a panel event concerning careers in the federal sector. Our two speakers will be:

Jennifer Lang
Director, Center for Human Resources
Social Security Administration
Chicago Region

and

Michael McAuley
National Counsel
National Treasury Employees Union

This will be a great opportunity to not only learn about each speaker’s specific career experiences, but also an excellent chance for those who may be interested in a federal sector career to have some of their questions answered. Refreshments will be served as well.
