A three panel discussion group will talk about transgender issues on a
local and national level as well as discuss the history and current
state of ENDA, the national Employment Rights bill that would give
employment protections to the GLBT community. Speakers: Casey Schwartz is
a Transgender Youth Specialist at Howard Brown’s Broadway Youth Center
and a recipient of the Windy City Times 30 Under Thirty Award. He
speaks locally and nationally educating service providers, community
members and young people on transgender issues and is committed to
empowering the transgender youth of today. Bill Borah is
an attorney specializing in LGBT rights and the rights of HIV
positive persons. He is the intended recipient of the 2008
Community Leadership Award from the Illinois State Bar Association
given by the ISBA’s Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
(SOGI). He is the recipient of the Howard Brown Medical Center
Volunteer of the Year award in 1995 and 1996.
Chris Clark
is a senior staff attorney in the Midwest Office of Lambda Legal and a
specialist in LGBT rights and HIV positive person's rights with
substantial knowledge about ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act), a
congressional bill that would give employment protections to
members of the LGBT community. He was also instrumental in the debate
and successful vote to endorse House Bill 101, a sexual orientation
amendment to the Illinois Human Rights Act. Meet the Bar

the Bar is a social networking event where lawyers, law students, and
judges meet in a relaxed atmosphere. LAGBAC members enjoy complimentary
