Congratulations to our recent competitors!

Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Law Moot Court Competition

Congratulations to Sarah Herlihy and Elizabeth Noonan, who WON the Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Law Moot Court Competition last weekend in Buffalo, New York. Sarah and Libby took home a host of other honors as well:  the team was runner-up for the Best Brief award; Libby was honored as the fourth-best speaker in the competition, and Libby and Sarah finished second and fourth, respectively, in balloting for the Ryan Mullin Memorial Award, which recognizes the advocates who best embody the traits of the award’s namesake.

Federal Bar Association Thurgood Marshall Moot Competition

Congratulations to Jean Gallo & Amy Somor and Molly Karr & Karla Rachwalski, who argued this weekend in the Federal Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Moot Competition in Washington, D.C. The teams did an excellent job arguing a difficult problem that addressed immigration, search/seizure, sentencing, and other issues.

Other competitions this semester:

American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition

Congratulations to all six students who represented Chicago-Kent in the San Francisco Regional of the competition. Both teams advanced to the regional quarterfinals, and Allison Lindy placed fifth individually, earning a Regional Best Advocate award. 

Team 1: Antonio Caldarone, Tara Kennedy, and Stephen Komonytsky 

Team 2: Allison Lindy, Lyndsay Markley, and Kristin Rosella 

Mardi Gras Moot Court Competition

Congratulations to Steven Lezell and Neil Rosenbaum, who represented Chicago-Kent at this year's Mardi Gras competition. 

Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition

Congratulations to Chris Kaiser of the Moot Court Honor Society and his teammate Chris Haggerty, who represented Chicago-Kent in the Midwest Regional of the Competition.  The team won the Best Brief award and placed second overall in the competition!

Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

Congratulations to Heather Aloe and Tressa Pankovits of the Moot Court Honor Society and their teammates, who represented Chicago-Kent in the North Central regional of the Competition.
