Professor Neal Katyal of Georgetown University will speak about the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld trial. Katyal was formerly a national security advisor for the Justice Department and is well-known for his advocacy of pro bono legal work. He was lead counsel for Hamdan, the alleged bodyguard and personal driver of Osama bin Laden. Katyal won in the District Court of D.C. in 2004, but was overturned by the Court of Appeals in 2005.
