so everyone knows what a bakesale is, well, the SALSA at Kent is
having a Samosa sale. Think of triangle-shaped pastries
filled with either potatoes or vegetables or ground beef, served
warm. Yummy! They will be
selling for $1.00/each and will be available all day.
Money raised will go to help finance our SALSA students to
attend the National SALSA conference at Berkley.

South Asian Law Students' Association is having its third annual
conference in San Francisco at the the University of California,
Berkley's School of Law. This will be a great opportunity
for SALSA members to meet other SALSA students from across the
country and from a myriad law schools. Panel discussions
will include speakers from the ACLU, the Department of Justice,
and the 9th Circuit, to name a few. For more information,

American Bar Association Meeting
The Indian American Bar Association (IABA) is
having its first monthly meeting of 2003! The meeting
will be held at a new venue, at the law offices of Sachnoff
& Weaver, at 30 S. Wacker Dr. Shawn Aranha will speak
about being the Democrat Party's candidate for State
representative in the Illinois State House of
Representatives. Other issues on the agenda include future
panel discussions, current status of the legal market, the IABA
mentor program, and the new IABA website.
