Henna
Tattoing Day
**Tuesday,
April 15th, 11:00am-5:00pm in Front Lobby
You've seen Madonna do it; you loved when Gwen
Stefani did it - NOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! Henna
Tattoing has made its way from Hollywood to the hallowed halls
of Kent!
No - needles are not involved! To
decorate the body, people from South Asian countries use
Henna, (or "Mendhi" as we like to call it), a green
paste that comes from crushing up plant leaves. It is
primarily used to celebrate happy occasions such as religious
holidays and weddings. The paste is then used to make
designs and patterns on the skin. After application, the
longer you leave the Henna on, the darker the pattern gets and
the longer it will stay. You then wash or brush it off,
and, voila, a beautiful design! The tattoos are
temporary, of course, and can stay anywhere from 1-3 weeks.
Have something to show off when you wear your
new tank top! The process will take about half an hour
to get done, to let it dry, and to wash/brush it off, so allot
yourself enough time to come spend with us.
Refreshments will be served - yet another
South Asian delight - Mango Shakes - a delicious milk based
drink made with real mangos.
Don't miss out on the fun, or the body
art. Get your temporary tattoo on April 15th!!
