Come join us for the South Asian Attorney Speaker Panel

SALSA in conjunction with Career Services Office is hosting a Speaker Panel on Tuesday, October 25th from 5:30-8:00 pm in C40.  Food and drinks will be provided.  This is your chance to hear from established South Asian attorneys talk about career choices and finding a job as well as get to know them one-on-one. There will be a formal panel for about an hour followed by an informal reception where you can meet-and-greet the attorneys on an individual basis.  We strongly request your presence at this event as the attorneys are taking time out of their busy schedule to talk to us.  We want to show them our appreciation!!  So, please try to be there.  The following are the speakers and brief bios about them:

§     Rishi Agrawal- Eimer Stahl Klevorn & Solberg, LLP
Rishi's practice is focused in civil litigation with an emphasis on toxic torts, products liability, and commercial litigation. Rishi was previously employed as an assistant public defender in Will County, Illinois.

 

§     Mateen Husami - Abbott Labs
Mateen's practice is focused on antitrust and trade regulation, commercial law, international law and international trade.

 

§     S. Raja Krishnamoorthi - Kirkland & Ellis, LLP
Raja’s practice is focused in the area of commercial litigation. Raja received his J.D. from Harvard where he was managing editor of the Harvard Civil Rights - Civil Liberties Law Review.

 

§     Maria Kuriakos - Illinois Attorney General's Office
Maria is the Assistant Chief of Criminal Prosecutions and Trials Assistance Bureau at the Illinois Attorney General's office. She was previously employed as an Assistant State's Attorney in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

 

§     Sal Patel - Schiff Hardin, LLP
Sal practices intellectual property law, and has extensive experience in both patent prosecution and patent litigation.

 

§     Tara Raghavan - Rakoczy Molino Mazzochi Siwik, LLP
Tara practices complex patent litigation relating to the Hatch-Waxman Amendments to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Tara also has significant experience preparing and prosecuting chemical and mechanical patent applications before the PTO.

 

§     Neera Walsh - Cook County States Attorney’s Office
Neera is the Supervisor of the First Municipal Division of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. The division works with community groups, schools and law enforcement to raise awareness of all types of hate crimes.
