Mentorship Program
Elizabeth Bleakley and Michelle Van Der Puy, Mentorship Coordinator |
|
The Society of Women in Law will again host a mentorship program, pairing WIL members with local female attorneys from the Chicago area, in an effort to give students an introspective look at life as a female attorney. This year, Elizabeth Bleakley and Michelle Van Der Puy will serve as the mentorship coordinators for the program. Our main goal this year is to provide opportunities for WIL members to interact with local area attorneys, pairing students with attorneys who practice in areas of interest to the students. The first mentorship program event will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 (time and place TBA). A general reception will be held for students and attorneys, giving students the opportunity to meet and interact with local female attorneys in a casual setting. From here, interested students will be given a mentor and will be able to set up individualized meetings. It is our hope that the Mentorship Program will give students a chance to see and learn about many of the challenges that female attorneys overcome in the legal profession. In addition, we hope to give students an opportunity to see how the law works outside of a classroom setting with specialized mentorship events and programs. If you have any questions about the Mentorship Program, please contact either Michelle Van Der Puy (mvanderpuy@kentlaw.edu) or Elizabeth Bleakley (ebleakley@kentlaw.edu). Also, check the WIL website for updates on our upcoming programs!
