DEADLINE: Mentorship applications due Friday.
Don't forget that the deadline for turning in your application for our mentorship program that links 1Ls with upper-class students is Friday, September 11th.  Applications should be returned to the WIL mailbox on the 2nd floor.  If possible, matches will be made based on area(s) of interest.  This is a great way for 1Ls to meet a student that has been through life as a first-year student at Chicago-Kent and who will be available to answer questions or just talk about whatever issues come up in their lives.  If you have any questions about this program, please contact Heather Fritsch, Mentoship Coordinator, at

1Ls, get involved with WIL by becoming a 1L Representative!
Applications will be available on the WIL bulletin board after Tuesday, September 8th for the 1L Representative positions.  There are two positions, one per division (day and evening).  1L Reps are members of the WIL executive board and get directly involved in planning programs and events for the coming year.  If you're interested in running for these positions, pick up an application and return it to the WIL mailbox on the 2nd floor by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18th.  If you have any questions about these positions, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the executive board or e-mail us at

Mark Your Calendars Now for the WIL Autumn Welcome Reception!
On Thursday, October 1st from 4-7 p.m. in the 10th Floor Event Room, Women in Law will host its Autumn Welcome Reception.  Hors d'ouevres and drinks will be served.  WIL members old and young are encouraged to attend this great event.  Mark your calendar now and watch this space in coming weeks for more details!

Check Out the New WIL Web Page!
Women in Law has recently revamped its web page ( to include information on our organizational goals, upcoming program, mentorship programs, WIL library and outline bank, executive board, and links of interest.  But we have not only information about WIL events and programs, but also information about events and organizations throughout the Chicagoland area that might be of interest to our members.

But we need your help!  If you know of an upcoming event or an organization that might be of interest to our members, please e-mail the details to Charis Runnels ( so she can include it on the web page.  Thanks!
