Winner
of the Student Bar Association's Award for
"Outstanding
Student Organization of the Year" in 1998
DEADLINE:
1L Representative Applications due Friday, Sept. 18th
Don't forget that the deadline for turning in
your application to run for a 1L Representative position is Friday, Sept.
18th! Applications are available on the WIL bulletin board.
There are two positions, one per division (day and evening). 1L Reps
are members of the WIL executive board and get directly involved in planning
programs and events for the coming year. If you're interested in
running for these positions, pick up an application and return it to the
WIL mailbox on the 2nd floor by 5:00 p.m.
on Friday, September 18th. If you have
any questions about these positions, please do not hesitate to contact
any member of the executive board or e-mail us at wil@kentlaw.edu.
Did
you forget to turn in your mentorship application?
Thank you to all students who have applied for the mentorship program
that links 1Ls with upper-class students! We've
gotten a tremendous response, especially from 1Ls. However, we do
still need more upperclass members to participate. If you're still
interested in being either a 1L mentee or a 2L, 3Ls, or 4L mentor. please
contact Heather Fritsch, Mentoship Coordinator (hfritsch@kentlaw.edu)
as soon as possible. Matches will soon be made, so watch your e-mail
for a message about your mentee/mentor. We encourage all participants in
this program to come to our Welcome Reception on Oct. 1st so you can meet
each other face-to-face!
REMINDER:
Have you paid your membership dues yet?
Please remember to pay your dues for the 1998-'99
year. A $10.00 check made payable to Women in Law can be left in
the WIL mailbox on the 2nd Floor. Payment of dues allows you to participate
in elections and mentorship porgrams and receive discounts on WIL merchandise.
Dues are used to fund programs and social events throughout the year, as
well as fellowships we give to students over the summer to help pay for
expenses when they volunteer with a public service agency. Thank
you!

But we have not only information about WIL events and programs, but also
information about events and organizations throughout the Chicagoland area
