Thank
You! Bake Sale Funds Fellowships
Thank you to everyone who either baked some treats, worked at the table,
and/or bought some of our delicious goodies at our Bake Sake last week!
Proceeds from the sale (over $150!) will go into our Women in Law Summer
Fellowship Fund. WIL will be offering 1-2 fellowships next Spring
to help offset expenses for a member who will be volunteering her/his time
at a public service organization during the summer. If you're interested
in these fellowships, talk to an Executive Board member or e-mail wil@kentlaw.edu.
WIL
Social Scheduled For ???
Come relax with your fellow WIL members at this
informal gathering! (Many say its the most fun they've had all semester!)
Hosted in the home of our very own Kim DeMarino, we'll have food &
drinks for everyone. Although we thought to have our informal social
on Friday, Nov. 6th, we want to avoid conflicting with the Amnesty International
Meeting here at Chicago-Kent that weekend. We're looking at Friday, Nov.
13th - what do you think? E-mail us at wil@kentlaw.edu.
Watch this space in the Record, the WIL webpage, and your e-mail
for updates on the exact date. Come to our General Meetings on Nov. 3rd
& 4th for details!
Agenda
& Notes from October General Meetings
If you missed the general meetings Oct. 6th &
7th, don't despair! The agenda
and notes from the meeting are now on the WIL website.
WIL
Outlines Now Available!
WIL has compiled and up-to-date list
of all outlines currently available to members on disk and in hard
copy form. If you didn't get a chance to sign up at our General Meetings
last week, please e-mail Sita Balthazar-Thomas, our Secretary, at sbalthaz@kentlaw.edu
with your request.
REMINDER:Have
you paid your membership dues yet?
Please remember to pay your dues for the 1998-'99
year. A $10.00 check made payable to Women in Law can be left in
the WIL mailbox on the 2nd Floor. Payment of dues allows you to participate
in elections and mentorship programs, receive discounts on WIL merchandise,
and makes you eligle for our fellowships! Dues are used to fund programs
and social events throughout the year, as well as fellowships we give to
students over the summer to help pay for expenses when they volunteer with
a public service agency. Thank you!
