If You Missed Last Week's Meetings

Tomorrow, Tuesday, is the first bake sale, which will take place in the 1st Floor Lobby. Please bring baked goods. If you can sit at any time between 9:00 and 12:00, please email me to sign up.

 

We are also having a clothing drive to benefit three different organizations from March 3-7. Please bring all of your used ball gowns, suits, clothes, and shoes to school during that week.

 

Save the Date

The Mentorship Program's 2nd Semester Reception will be held on March 6 at 5:30 pm in a local restaurant, specific location TBA. Look out for your email invite in the next week.


Elections for 2003-2004 WIL Board

Letters of intent for a position on the 2003-04 Women in Law Board are due to the Women in Law mailbox on the 2nd floor by 4:00pm on Friday, March 14.  

 

All board positions (except for 1st Year Representatives who are chosen in the Fall) are elected positions and all current board members will have to run again if they would like to keep their position.

 

The following positions are available:

 

President

Vice President (Day Division)

Vice President (Evening Division)

Secretary

Treasurer

Mentorship Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator

3L Representative

2L Representative

 

A description of each of these positions will be posted to the WIL website later this week (however, most are pretty self-explanatory).

 

Esther Rothstein Award

The Esther Rothstein Award will be awarded at the April end of the year ceremony. This award is open to the entire student body. The description of this award can be found on our website. Applications will be posted in the next couple of weeks to the WIL Website.

 

This year's award will be a $100 stipend and a plaque.

 

Summer Fellowship Award

The Summer Fellowship Award is given to an active WIL member who has a nonprofit or public interest job lined up for the upcoming summer. Preference is given for unpaid positions. 

 

More information can be found on the WIL website. Applications will be posted in the next couple of weeks.

 

This year's award will be $500.


 

 

Raffle

Some raffle prizes still have not been picked up. If you have not picked up your prize, please email wil@kentlaw.edu to set up a time to pick up your prize.

 

Winners are listed on our webpage.   

 

DUES

To join Women in Law and receive the benefits of a member (law school outlines, mentorship program, social events) you have to pay your $10 dues for the year.  If you have not yet done so, please place your cash or check (IN AN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR NAME) in the Women in Law mailbox found on the second floor (right side mailboxes).
