Summer Fellowship Application

The Summer Fellowship is available to all dues-paying WIL members working for a public service organization over the summer.  The position should be either pro bono or partially salaried.  Work relevant to women, as a community, is strongly preferred.  

ELIGIBILITY:  
To be eligible for a WIL Summer Fellowship, you must: 

1) Be a currently enrolled student at Chicago-Kent College of Law who will return in Fall, 2004; 
2) Have paid your $10.00 Women in Law membership dues for 2003-04; 
3) Have secured a position with a public service employer for Summer, 2004; and 
4) Have participated in at least three (3) WIL events or activities during the 2002-03 year, including a minimum of one volunteer program. 

Applicants are also encouraged to apply for KJF Fellowships, should they meet KJF's eligibility requirements. 

TO APPLY:   
Please complete and submit the following materials to the WIL mailbox by April 27, by 5:00pm.

1) Summer Fellowship Application (available on the WIL bulletin board in the Concourse); 
2) A current resume; 
3) A personal statement (1-2 pages) explaining why you will be working at your particular public service employer, how your efforts might affect women, and any other information you believe to be relevant and important; and 
4) A letter explaining the nature and length of your employment. 

Each application will be reviewed and a fellowship awarded to one or more individuals based on their respective needs.  Fellowship winners will be announced at the Spring Reception in late April.  Should you have any questions, please e-mail wil@kentlaw.edu.
