HONORS AND AWARDS
Each year, Chicago-Kent students receive numerous honors and
awards recognizing scholastic achievement, advocacy skills, and
contribution to student life.
ORDER OF THE COIF
Students who graduate in the top ten percent of their class are eligible
for election to membership in the Order of the Coif.
GRADUATION WITH HONORS
Graduation with honors is determined on the basis of the final class
rank. Upon recommendation of the faculty, graduates may be awarded
degrees with Honors or High Honors. Students who rank in the top twenty-five
percent of their class will graduate with Honors; those who rank in
the top ten percent of their class will graduate with High Honors.
January and August graduates are ranked with the class graduating
the following June.
DEAN'S HONOR LIST
Each semester, students who earn a semester average of 3.25 or higher
on a 4.0 scale are listed on the Dean's Honor List.
MOOT COURT COMPETITION AWARDS
The Moot
Court Honor Society administers the annual Ilana
Diamond Rovner Appellate Advocacy Competition for second- and
third-year students. The winner of the competition receives the Ilana
Diamond Rovner Award for Outstanding Appellate Advocate. The best
oralist in the competition receives the Fay Clayton Award, while the
author of the best brief receives the Ralph L. Brill Award. The Rovner,
Clayton, and Brill Award winners also receive scholarship grants applicable
to tuition and have their names inscribed on the permanent plaque
displayed in the Moot Court Honor Society's office.
THE BAR AND GAVEL SOCIETY
Each year the Student Bar Association inducts graduating seniors who
have distinguished themselves by outstanding service to the law school,
the community and the law profession, into the Bar and Gavel Society.
CALI EXCELLENCE FOR THE FUTURE AWARD
The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) presents
awards to the students who earn the highest grade in each class each
semester.

CHICAGO-KENT ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award is presented to the students in each class with the highest
cumulative grade point average at the end of each academic year.
WEST STUDENT AWARD
This award, sponsored by the West Publishing Company, is given to
the top four students who have made the most significant contributions
toward overall legal scholarship.
