Trial Advocacy: Team Competition

Trial Advocacy at Chicago-Kent College of Law

Chicago-Kent has earned a national reputation for having one of the top Trial Advocacy Programs in the country. A large part of this recognition is due to the successful history of its trial advocacy teams.

Trial team members demonstrate their trial advocacy skills in local, regional and national mock trial competitions. Chicago-Kent trial advocacy teams have participated in numerous competitions, including the ABA National Trial Competition, National Institute for Trial Advocacy "Tournament of Champions," Association of Trial Lawyers of America Student Trial Advocacy Competition, National White Collar Crime Mock Trial Invitational, and National Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Competition.

Chicago-Kent’s record is admirable. But while the school has learned that winning is better than losing, it has successfully resisted a "win at any cost" approach. Chicago-Kent students always take the high road. When they falter, coaches lead them. Compromise with principle is not tolerated. As a result, our team members, virtually without exception, have left the law school well prepared -- in knowledge, talent and character -- to enter the profession.
